Wax Resin Thermal Tranfer Ribbon
Wax resin thermal transfer ribbons are a combination of wax and resin based product in the colourant. They provide more durability for scratch, smudge, heat and chemical resistance than wax ribbons. Wax thermal transfer ribbons are the least expensive of all the thermal ribbons. They have a high percentage of wax based product in the colourant. Waxes have little image durability against smudge, scratch chemical and environmental resistance. These ribbons are best used where there is not much abrasion or physical contact against the print, or not required to last for an extended period. Wax ribbons can be used for, general purpose labels, Shipping or address labels, garment tags, price tickets and warehouse applications, etc.
Resin Thermal Transfer Ribbon
Resin thermal transfer ribbons are harder than wax and wax resin combination ribbons. These are therefore used where superior durability including high temperature and chemical resistance is required.
Typical uses include applications in the automotive, pharmaceutical, electronics, chemical, outdoor use, etc.
Near edge wax resin thermal transfer ribbons are especially formulated wax resin and full resin ribbons for use on near edge head printers and high speed date coding applicators. Common uses for Near Edge are
snack foods, meats, medical devices, pharmaceutical products and flexible packaging, etc.
