WHO WE ARE
Foilmakers Australia was originally part of Milford Astor which was established in 1954 and has been Australian owned and operated since 1964. Up until recently Milford Astor consisted of 2 businesses, Foilmakers, which is Australia’s leading manufacturer and supplier of decorative foils, coatings and thermal transfer ribbon (TTR); and Milford Astor Printing Systems, the leader in the supply of pad printing equipment and supplies, hot stamping machines, artwork, dies, cliches and screen printing machines as well as a wide range of associated printing press consumables.
Foilmakers is now its own business unit trading under the Aldus Pty Ltd parent group. Also part of Foilmakers is API Foilmakers (formerly part of the API Group).

WHAT WE DO
Foilmakers offers a full range of TTR or thermal transfer ribbon in different shades, grades and roll sizes to suit several thermal transfer printers currently in the market. Our TTR products are designed to suit most substrates, like paper and film based materials, hard plastics, acrylics & acetates, nylon, polystyrene, PVC, lacquered wood, metals and leather.
Foilmakers' portfolio of hot stamping metallic foils is quite extensive. Our foils are available in an extensive variety of colours across several ranges. Our metallic hot stamping foils are perfect for a wide range of substrates and machinery types, including platen, rotary, roll-on and clam-shell. And for our customers' convenience, we also offer colour matching services.
Narrow web cold foils are often used for heat sensitive applications or reel-to-reel label production by way of foiling units integrated into the printing press to enable high speed, in-line production. Foilmakers cold foils are suitable for use on most major print press machines.
Sheet-fed cold foils can be used on laminated or metallised substrates, or for cartons and labels with a large area of metallic background. The Foilmakers product portfolio includes sheet-fed foils that are over printable and compatible with convential or UV cured offset inks.
Pigment foils range is divided into three different groups. Pigment foils for general applications, pigment foils for plastics and special application pigment foils.
Foilmakers pigment foils have a higher pigment load compared with inks and liquid coatings, giving you an end result with greater colour depth and opacity. We have various colours available across each of our pigment foil ranges.
Foilmakers specialty foils range also include digital foil grades, holographic foils, security foils and clear hot foils to name a few. Subject to MOQs, our manufacturing capability and colour matching service enables us to create bespoke grades and shades to suit your every need.
